Cottonwood Tree in Spring, 1943
Oil on canvas, 30 1/16 x 36 1/8 inches
Gift of The Burnett Foundation
1997.6.16
Artist: Georgia O'Keeffe
Whispy green and yellowish green cottonwood tree fills the entire canvas. Blue sky is viable in the upper corners and through some of the branches, yet overall the painting is dominated by the blurred, flowing color of fresh green leaves and fingers of white branches.
