down arrow Recipe Binders
Two recipe binders, artificially titled "Recipe Binder 1" and "Recipe Binder 2." Recipe binders were compiled by Georgia O'Keeffe, with evidence of some limited additions after her death. The first binder includes an introduction written by O'Keeffe in which she discusses writing a cookbook. Recipes are mostly typed, and there is significant duplication between the two binders. However, their orders differ. Binders include dividers such as "Bread" and "Entrees/Soups," though these dividers are not always indicative of the recipes found within each section. Recipe sources include friends, acquaintances, published cookbooks, and nutritionist Lelord Kordel. During processing, recipes were removed from the binders, but original order of the recipes was maintained. Binders are now housed in the Enclosures series, with the binder contents here.
